For my workshop at the Salisbury Centre, I am delighted to share my passion for sustainability and my experience in sewing and design. This is suitable for beginner sewing skills and aims to introduce various sewing techniques using both sewing and overlocking machines. Using a variety of types of seams, I will demonstrate how this can create a simple and striking effects to your finished article.

Recently, I have read about the compostable supermarket bags that are not as environmentally friendly as advertised and have been shown to remain whole after three years buried in soil. I felt this was an ideal opportunity to make beautiful upcycled shopping bags from old clothing and surplus material from a simple pattern, incorporating the sewing techniques to create your individual design.
